Crystal R. Mayville, CPA

 

Crystal R. Mayville, CPA is the managing member of  Mayville Group, LLC. She is dedicated to helping clients make intelligent financial decisions and minimizing their income tax liability. Crystal has over 25 years of accounting experience with the last 20 years being in the public accounting arena, providing traditional accounting, tax and business consulting services to privately held companies. The scope of her experience also includes expertise with high net-worth individuals, rental real estate professionals, international taxation for individuals, & IRS representation for those who have been relentlessly pursued, or are a bit behind.  My goal is to help anyone in a difficult tax position.

 

Crystal received her Bachelor's of Business Administration in Accounting from Cleary University in Ann Arbor Michigan, her Master's of Accounting & Finance from Keller Graduate School in Chicago, Illinois and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of New Mexico.

As you can somewhat gather from the above, Crystal started out in the accounting profession studying & working under a CPA mentor in the midwest.  Her first work experience was with a small CPA firm in metro Detroit during the late 90's.  She then moved to Albuquerque, NM in 2005 to begin working for one of the largest firms in town.  After several years there, Crystal went out on her own in 2010 to start Mayville Group, LLC - which continues to serve all of Albuquerque, the state of New Mexico, & numerous other national & international clients today.

Not all accountants can call themselves a certified public accountant (CPA). A CPA must adhere to certain professional and technical requirements. CPAs are relied upon because of their keen analytical and decision-making skills. Their clients also value their objectivity, integrity and dedication to service. CPA qualifications 

 

• CPA's are tested and certified. A CPA is an accountant who has been certified by the state of New Mexico (or applicable state) after passing a rigorous exam.

• CPA's have a college degree. Eligible candidates must graduate with an appropriate baccalaureate or master's degree from an accredited college with a focus on accounting or finance. 

• CPA's must meet certain work experience requirements in public accounting, corporate accounting, finance or in academia to receive a CPA certificate. 

• CPA's complete continuing education. Active CPAs must meet continuing education requirements every three years to maintain an active CPA certificate. 

• CPA's follow a strict code of ethics. In addition to education and licensing requirements, members of the New Mexico Society of CPAs are bound by a strict code of professional ethics and are required to complete ethics courses within their continuing education requirements.
